Suniel graduated in Dutch tax law, specialization corporate tax law, from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1996. He also graduated in the post master curriculum European tax law from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1998.
Suniel worked for Buruma Maris and PwC.
His areas of practice are mainly Dutch and Dutch Caribbean corporate income tax, European tax law and international taxation. He advises multinational clients on establishing tax efficient structures including: M&A transactions, group restructurings, debt restructurings and other financing schemes. Suniel represents his clients in case of a dispute with tax authorities.
Suniel is lecturer corporate income tax law, international tax law and European tax law at Nyenrode University. He also lectures corporate income tax law and European tax law at several tax institutions.
Suniel is author of various books and (scientific) publications in the field of Dutch and Dutch Caribbean corporate income tax law, international tax law and European tax law.
Suniel is a member of the Dutch association of Tax Science (Vereniging voor Belastingwetenschap), the Dutch Organisation of Tax Lawyers (NOB) and the International Fiscal Association (IFA).
